The Wood Expertise specialisation is intended for students already enrolled in the Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Wood Technologies and Industries, following the Furniture or Wood Structures pathways. After completing the general and scientific courses common to both pathways, students with an excellent academic record are offered enhanced instruction in scientific subjects, which replaces the professional courses of the Furniture and Wood Structures pathways. Thus, upon graduation, holders of the professional bachelor’s degree possess all the skills needed to enter the workforce or continue their studies in the first year of the Wood Technologies and Industries Engineering programme.
WHY?
By joining the Wood Expertise Specialisation, you are trained for managerial positions suited to the structures of SMEs in the Wood Industries, whether in the wood construction industry or the furniture sector. You benefit from comprehensive training that includes technical knowledge about wood as a material and its use in construction and furniture making, along with courses in management, economics, and humanities. Additionally, you receive enhanced scientific instruction, enabling you to advance your professional career or continue your studies as an Engineer in Wood Technologies and Industries.
HOW?
TESTIMONIAL
After obtaining a DUT in Civil Engineering at the IUT of Egletons, I decided to specialise in an environmentally friendly material: wood. I joined the Professional Bachelor’s degree at ENSTIB, specialising in Wood Construction, through an apprenticeship at SMC2. There, I applied the knowledge and skills I acquired during my training. My personal qualities and skills were not fully utilised in a technician role, so I sought out careers that might suit me better. Drawn to the process department at SMC2, I chose to continue my studies at ENSTIB in the engineering programme, still alternating at SMC2, with the goal of becoming a process engineer. During this year of professional Bachelor’s at ENSTIB, I developed a career plan that encouraged me to continue my engineering training. Aware of the significant step this represented, I made every effort to achieve the best results. At the end of the year, I took refresher courses in chemistry and physics. I was supported and advised by the teachers, who helped me believe in my career plan and make it a reality.
